Not sure what kind of RV you're dealing with, but if the Ford Escape if within the tow limits if your RV, there shouldn't be a problem. The RV should have trans aux cooler as required to fulfill the limits stated.

There is no industry standard. Ford has a standard, though, as I assume each manufacturer does.
You can run the trans as high as 220°F all day long and not have a problem. You can go as high as 250°F for no more than a half hour at a time.
