On my 2016 Lariat when arriving at a stop sign, I am getting a bit of a shudder just before the stop at 1mph or less. Is this normal or should I be asking the dealer to lube something?
First post on this site. Came up via some Google searching because I'm having the same issue.
I have a '17 F-150 FX4. 5.0 crew cab with a 6.5' bed.
Has 6,000 miles on it now but since day 1 I noticed a slight shudder in the rear end right as I come to a stop. I doesn't shake the truck of anything crazy, but there is a shudder. It doesn't seem to do it every time but now I've been noticing that sometimes it will have a slight shudder a second after I've actually stopped.
It will even do it when pressing the brake after coming off it for a second from a standstill.
No shudder at all during acceleration or regular braking. Only just before coming to a complete stop. (And sometimes a second after)
I haven't taken it in yet to have it looked at but that's my next step after attempting to educate myself so that I don't get the wool pulled over my eyes by the dealer.
keep us updated, my 2016 supercrew 5.5' bed with 5.0 does what I'm assuming is the same thing. immediately after a stop (usually) it feels kinda like the trans is downshifting one more time, but I've confirmed on the dash that it is already in first.
The first time I noticed it, it reminded me of the feeling when an ecoboost auto-stops..
I have not taken delivery yet of our 18 5.0 and it will have the 10 sp behind it. Be interesting to see. Our 13 Eco never did that. I wonder if 2wd or 4wd makes a difference.

How much have you diagnosed it? Can you tell if it is an engine thing or a suspension thing? Depending on circumstances, I guess it might be difficult to tell, but maybe the tachometer might give you a clue?
Our 3.5L EB does not do this. However, we occasionally get some weird resonance when we roll over frost grooves. I think that is more the "shape" of the bump, and perhaps somewhat to do with what speed we encounter it at.
I notice the same thing with my 2018 XLT with 3.5 EB. Mine only happens when I come to a complete stop and when I take my foot off the brake. Then I realized the issue was the auto stop/start. Not sure when this option was first an option in the F150. Could this be the shudder you are referring to?
This refers to the rumble some folks feel. Generally they identify the vibration from the gas tank indicating fuel slosh. Some people have had some angle alignments out of whack so it doesn't hurt to get checked out initially.
