carb adjustment

I have a Holley 500 cfm 2bbl on a 390 that needs adjustment. I have a vacuum guage and have been told I can adjust it by getting the highest vacuum at idle. So if that is correct what vacuum port should I hook the gauge up? The carb has one screw on the pass side and one on the drivers side for the adjustment, now wich one should i start with? Any other help would be great

carb adjustment

The gauge gets hooked to manifold vacuum, off the vacuum tree on the manifold. As for the screws, they both get adjusted the same amount, about 1/4 to 1/2 turn at a time.
