Any members have experience with SxS rack that fits in back of pickup bed and over cab? When I got my SD I went with F350 vs F250 for extra payload as my 4 seat Teryx weighs 1700-1800 lbs.
i have a utility trailer that I ve been using but would like to use the rack system; 1) so I can go on more rugged roads when doing day rides; and 2) use the rack while pulling a bumper pull camp trailer for longer outings. ( camp trailers less $$$ than toy haulers!)
Would appreciate any experiences, good or bad, that members have had. Especially interested in how truck handled load, high center of gravity and so forth.
I have only had atv's up on a deck so not much help but I do see a lot around me with them. Most are over the 13'6" max height. I might have someone near me this weekend I can ask but it won't be a Ford with my luck.
I had a forward facing 2 ATV carrier years back. I wanted to be able to tow my then travel trailer and take the quads too. They were full sized and weighed close to your proposed weight when combined. The load never felt tippy in any way and the truck handled it just like any other load. As stated above, height would be my only concern but you could be fine there depending on how high the rack sits. How about length though? Those 4 seaters are over 10' long...

Royal Red and black two tone Joel. The last vehicle before I went all silver. Probably the best looking Ford I've had but like any dark color, a nuisance to keep clean...
The quads were red because silver wasn't available back then. The later ones were all silver/grey...
Yes, that's the basic design of Toy Up ... front of rack extends a little further over the cab than the one in the photo I d guess.
Yes 4 seaters get looonng! That s what caught my eye with Teryx4... 116 inches total length. Looking at a foot or two more on 4 seat Polaris, CanAm, etc. They re approaching my TJ Jeep in length! lol
Sorry to take so long to get back to you. From asking 2 people with a utv up on a deck that goes over the cab. They both said it is no different then when they had 2 atvs up on a deck. So with that being said I never had any problems with 2 atv's up on a deck.
