As we all know the Sony stereo is crap! I found a solution. I went to my local stereo guru and we came up with the following: all Phoenix Gold equipment. 6 channel 1000 was amp, one channel for the sub, removed Sony sub and Amp, 4 remaining channels for the stereo, left, right, front, rear, we put a small volume **** for the amp to adjust the bass since none is provided in the on screen Sony controls. Upgraded all speakers also using Phoenix Gold speakers.
Sounds great, the bass control gives the boost needed, and the amp cleaned up the Sony "sound" really well. The best part is nothing in the on screen display changed. Every thing stayed the same. Also had no effect on the Sync components.
I forgot to mention I used the Sony factory radio, into the Amp then to LC6. I am thinking of adding Audio Controls DQS which is a 6 channel digital equalizer for a bit more definition and better control of the sound

This post brings back some great memories for me as many years ago I used Phoenix Gold componnets mixed with JBL to build home speaker enclosures.
No recent experience with Phoenix but back then the components were excellent.
I would be interested in pictures of how you managed space for installing the amp and sub.
2017 F250 Platinum with completely stock stereo. Passenger door speaker sounds like it may be blown, low end is fine but upper end sounds completely awful and is full of static. I really don't crank the radio up that loud (15) may be the highest I have ever had it on. Right now I can't really listen to it. What are the upgrade options? Is there anything that won't completely break the stock head unit or other functions of the truck? I can probably get the factory warranty to cover it but if they are in the door anyway why not upgrade. Any suggestions would be welcome.
"As we all know the Sony stereo is crap"... Strictly your opinion at this point. In my opinion, you found a cure to a non-issue for the vast majority of Super Duty owners. ...and, who is "We".
