Checking the Ford Etis website on my build today it stated white gold (WATER BASE). Just asking are not all vehicles painted oil base? Pardon me and the ignorance on this.

A lot of new automotive paints are water based. Depends on the type you use. Thank the epa. Doing it for environment. Low voc's. You can still get acrylic paints and others. I am not a body guy but my neighbor is. I think the water based paints require a fancier booth setup for paint temps and cure temps. I have worked on a couple make up air units serving these types if booths. I coiukd be way off though as I am no expert in auto body. Just know that water based has been used for some time now.
All paints on new cars are low VOC based. But this is just the base coats. The primers and clear are solvent based.
This is changing though as there are numerous water based clear coat paints now available.
Impressive that you used an Accuspray gun for this! I work for 3M - thank you!
Really bummed when 3m discontinued the accuspray turbines. Those things were great for the garage “do it yourselfers” and for the mobile reconditioning guys. I use a fuji spray now, and though it sprays phenomenally, it kicks off way too much overspray. Miss my old accuspray set up....

Yea, I’m assuming that product didn’t hit the numbers needed for it to be profitable and that’s why it’s no longer around. I know several people who were bummed about it
