Brake line help

Ok guys- thought today was the day the brake system became complete- quick backstory- i had a rubber hose running from about 18 inches past the ABS brake connection in the front to about 10 inches before the connector in the rear. I replaced the rear connector to the axle, both of those lines, and pulled the hose and removed the flare from the front.

In my search, I found a SS intermediate line for the excursion- but having gotten it today- It's not clear to me if that's going to fit or where it fits. I have no reference to just replace the part, since I don't have the old part. I feel I am missing a piece that goes from the brake up front to under the beast where this connects to- am I on the right track? This is what I got:

Thanks again guys!

Step 1. Match the male fittings on your new line to the female parts on the EX.
Step 2. Verify the length needs by using some string and run the intended path ( an extension cord work great as it isn't as flimsy )

The factory line had a flexible section as you can see on the other lines, often non-oem replacement lines do not have this.

I would suggest you thoroughly clean and flush brake components before taking fluid lines loose. Particle contamination like you have in that opening are not good for sealing the flare, or worse, getting into the system.

I will get the shop vac out and clean that up- I'll have to remember that for the spark plugs- I think a lot of people blow out the cavities before removing plugs.

no go

I did vacuum out the underhood brake system- but neither of the ends of the new line fit in the old spot- the fittings are too small- both of them- I'll stop at Napa tonight and see what they know for a size- I've got 1/4" nicu line to make a brake line and just chalk it up to what I should have done in the first place....

Or I can do a real quick search, get the actual part # for the rear line: MOTORCRAFT BRTR151 {#6C3Z2B523BA} and order the last one that Rock Auto had.... for 1/3 the price of the line I got from ebay.
