I know there is a massive difference in price amongst these two products, but there is also a massive difference in build quality, materials, security, and execution too. Have any of you sprung for the Truck Vault and if so, did you find that the extra money was well spent?
I have had a truck vault since 2005. They built new pieces for me recently so I could transfer it from my previous F150 to my new F350. I will likely never have another truck without one. They are worth every penny. I was going to move to a 5th wheel when we bought the F350 and I found I just could not give up the Truck Vault so I moved to a larger travel trailer instead. Buy one and you will not regret it.
I have the vault. It does the job. A bit of a pain opening two lids, but for weapons and such it sure is nice not having to worry about some dirty neck grabbing it.

There is a actually a bigger difference in quality than there is a difference in price. The decked system is flimsy plastic with drawers that do not slide well. I actually went to buy a decked system and when I saw one they had installed earlier that morning I changed my mind on the spot. I would encourage you to go look at one before you buy it.
Truck vault stuff falls jnto that buy knce cry once catagory I believe.

Yea, I agree, that's why I said there's a big difference in quality and materials used. I have seen one Decked system in person and I didn't give it the thorough shake down I should have. I have time though, if I order the Snugtop camper it'll be months before I get it built and on the truck ready to put a drawer system in.
Those of you that have the Truck Vault, how long did it take for it to be built? Does it come shipped to you or must you have it installed at a dealer?
If you are talking about the $330. Ford installed vault under the arm rest, I love it!
I preload the combo so I can open it in the dark (one # off) or if I'm watching elsewhere.
One of the best options I ordered.

It's an option ($330) that can be ordered with the truck. I've heard of people installing them in the console afterward. You can order them from Ford, however, you may get it cheaper going through the supplier that supplies them for Ford. I'm not sure who that is.

I am betting that since the decked system is a bed organizer that he is talking about the truck vault bed systems.
