ok i have a 1988 Bronco XLT, with a 4.9l streight 6, with the 4 speed manual with overdrive.... When i purchased the vehicle, the clutch seemed spungy, so i read the manual on how to bleed it.... and the bleed screw broke off the housing of the internal slave.....
So after 4 months of rock kicking, and complaining. I started to take the tranny down to remove the old slave, and mount the new one. first this Bronco was only 600 bucks, and is very worn... but only had 87000 miles.. so drive line is in good condition.... anyway... i had a bit of trouble with the rusty bolts but with a breaker bar, all was well.... then once i had the transfercase and tranny off... i had a HECK OF A TIME removing the stupid hydrolic line from the slave.... once i reinstalled the new slave and tranny-transfercase i was ready to bleed the new slave... which i did, and the clutch is acting funny.... when you put the truck in gear and let up the clutch the truck doens't act like it is bogging down, and the darn thing doesn't move.... if you look through the inspection hole in the bell housing you can see the slave pushing the clutch in and the clutch pushing back out when the pedel is released... but the clutch is acting as it is not letting go... What is going on?? i have bleed the system multiple times.... and i have just about had it.... Some one please help..
also i should ad, it did work periodically, but not very good... it would only engage if you put the RPM's up and let is sit in gear then it would grab... but it only did that periodically, and still wouldn't even come close to stalling the engine while in gear wiht the clutch out...... so it seems as if the clutch won't dissingage...
