Is there anything special I need to do to replace the shocks? I just bought sensatrax for my 95 Bronco and don't want to be suprised halfway through the job?
Thanks! I'll be working on it this weekend. I also have some issues with the rearend, I think. When I stop, there is a clunk and as I take off the clunk happens again. I took a jack to the rearend and got one of the tires up off the ground in park and spun it a little. There was quite a bit of play back there. Is that normal? What should a rearend job cost me?
check and grease the slip yoke on drive shaft and while you have the drive shaft disconnected check the pinion nut on the rear end, there nortorious for coming loose. DW
Just to beat a dead horse on the slip yoke issue. I had mine regreased by my mechanic about two weeks ago. I was under it this weekend trying to pull off the abs sensor from the top of the rear axle (to no avail, the bolt won't budge) when I notice that the boot wasn't tied down. The end closest to the front still had the metal band securing it to the driveshaft, but the rear was not tied down at all. I could just slide it back. Obviously this isn't very secure and could allow moisture and dirt to get in there. Should I zip tie this down, or is it not much of an issue?
I got the job done in real good time...for the shocks. Had tires trown on as well. I am going to dig into the slip yoke issue this weekend assuming the rain lets up. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for your help!
