Hey everybody new to the forums on the site so here's what I got going on I have had my 2000 Ford F250 for about 3 years now I've always wanted a diesel but I couldn't afford one and I couldn't find any that were really worth it in my opinion in my area so just yesterday A friend of mine sent me a link and there is a 2000 Ford F250 that has been hit however it runs and drives and it is a manual shift transmission 2 wheel drive and it is diesel I recognize the truck because it used to belong to my old employer and somebody ran into it and totaled the truck they want $1,000 for it it has 300,000 miles on it but I can say that I know mechanically that truck is sound because I know who the mechanic was that did the work on it and they were very meticulous and would do the oil changes every three to five thousand miles with synthetic oil so what I was thinking was buying the truck and maybe doing a body swap on it after getting an automatic transmission for it. I guess so my question is what this be worth my time to do this since I have a complete running donor vehicle and what would I need besides the transmission to replace the manual with an automatic. Also like current gas truck is in extended cab short bed and the diesel is a single cab and used to have an 8ft ft bed
