i would really appreciate some suggestions!!!

hello everyone its been a while since ive made any posts but i cant seem to find the answer to my question..here goes my uncle has just given me a 2000 F250 superduty crew cab short bed 4x4 with the 7.3 and an automatic and it has 224000 easy miles on it ....ofcourse i couldnt say no id be a fool to say no when hes just given it to me but the problem is that i have no need for a diesel as i dont pull much of anything and im really dreading the expensive maintenance costs and repairs and the transmission has never been replaced nor has the injectors...i love the thought of having a diesel pickup but i dont have the funds for this realistically and i wouldnt drive it far enough on a daily basis to really get it warmed up (1/2 of a mile each way to work daily)...however i really want the crew cab for the space and i want the 4x4 so im thinking of trading it off when i get it and try to find the same type truck with the 5.4 ......guys i would really appreciate your input on what you think i should do hey and if any of you guys have a 5.4 powered superduty that you might be interested in swapping let me know!!

Walk to work, and be happy that you have one of the most reliable trucks out there.
75%of the diesel pickup owners don't need a diesel. so what's the dif?

hold out for a V10 trade..

the 5.4 will seem under gunned esp if your looking for a pre-05 truck.

That 7.3 isnt any more expensive to maintain than a 5.4..... actually I would trust a 200k 7.3 before I would trust a 100k 5.4

Do you plan to tow or haul heavy loads with the truck? Or will it be a daily driver and occasional off-road truck?

Well, you do know the history of the vehicle plus its been in your family so there is a definite advantage right there. I would keep it for a year then decide if it would be worth the trade/sale.

Free F series diesel truck just sounds too cool anyways.......

Give it a try, then if you can't afford it trade it. You'll be surprised as to what just fell in your lap.

that sounds like a good idea i guess im just intimidated by eventually having to replace a $3000 tranny and $3000 worth of injectors when i dont have that kindof cash to spend other than that im really excited about it..its just exactly what ive always wanted
