Two bolts and two nuts on the front of the CJB. You will first need to pull the two big plugs off the back. 10mm bolts holding them on...long winded suckers. Once the plugs are off and pushed UP and out of the way, you can take the two bolts and two nuts off the front. Then push it back and down a bit. Once you have a little space, disconnect the little GEM connector from the side of the unit. Once that is off, fish it down to the brake pedal for full removal. Install in reverse order. Removal and install should take 30-40 minutes.
No problem. Sorry it took so long to get you a response on this. The diagrams I have posted for you should be all you need to troubleshoot this system in the future.
Let me know if you need the GEM I have. I can get it out to you ASAP, but you pay shipping there and back. This offer is for troubleshooting before you buy one outright.
thank you for the offer let me pull mine to take a pic of the label and make sure what I need but I will let you know what I have as soon as I can, tomorrow are brakes and the passenger o2 sensor,, have to ask how do you like your 7.3
Love the 7.3L. Pulled a 10k load today (7k cargo on 3.25K trailer). Need to upgrade the springs in the rear, but she pulled it effortlessly. Brakes were great with the P3 controller. My 7.3L is modified (as you can see in the signature at the bottom of my posts), so it is not making stock power anymore. Also, I have the heavy duty 4R100 with all the weak areas addressed that were found over the years. Truck as it is set up is capable of almost 400HP/720Ftlbs torque. That torque number really amplifies the HP numbers. She will flat out go with the mild setup I have.
Your GEM should match the second picture in post #13. That is the spare/troubleshooting GEM I have on hand.
I will send it to you USPS priority, as it should fit in a small box. You send it back same method once you have figured out whether that is the problem (or not). If it is the problem, there are several available on eBay for ~$100-150. No idea if the ones they are selling are good or not...taking a chance there I guess if you buy one online. Send me a PM tonight with an address, and I will send you PayPal info for the shipping. Small Pri box is around $8 last time I checked.
