What kind of life is everyone seeing out of the 5.0 and the transmission? Looking at used trucks but everything around here seems to have 100k+ on the clock.
2016 F150 SC 5.0 6sp. Ran her hard the whole time I had it. Bought it with 36k miles, ran it for 3.5 years and she had a piece of a mattress get hung up underneath her on the freeway, believe it or not I couldn't avoid missing it but saw it eject from rear of truck at 80 mph, kept going about a mile when wife said her seat was getting hot looked out my side mirror and noticed an occasional spark, whipped onto the shoulder and opened door and flames swirled in through the door. Burned to the ground as I watched, she had 196k miles on her and was a phenomenal vehicle, outside of routine maintenance, no issues. Insurance gave way too little for the truck (was payed off too) bought a 2018 f150 SC 5.0 10sp, great truck but happens to be one of the oil consumers. I keep my eye on the level between changes usually adding 2-3 quarts between changes at 5k miles.

I was just reading in the 2015-2020 thread of someone using a moly MoS2 additive, amongst other things, to fix his oil burning. Might be worth a read. Although lots of mixed feelings about it, the guy claims it worked.
