I don't have a prop. My truck has a coil spring next to each hinge.
With the lighter/weaker fiberglass, I don't think you would want those big springs on the hood because they would cause the hood to bend at the middle when you go to close it (like the square body Chevys do)
You might could find some lighter duty spring to put in there or rig some kind of OEM looking hood prop... Junk yard might be your best bet on both those options. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
