Looking for front flaps and can't decide on the plastic molded or the rubber type. Is it worth the money on the rubber ones or is it just a preference to you? I have factory running boards and would like to keep them cleaner. There will not be much off pavement use for the truck. Thank-you.
I just installed a pair of weathertech molded mudflaps front and back on my srw. I decided to go with these because they were advertised as a no drill mudflap they use factory holes and a clip that locks them in place. Only thing I wished was that they were a bit longer because my running boards still get dirty but I also drove a lot of gravel roads you should be ok with these if your sticking to the paved roads.

Sherpa, If you in an area where you get snow and Ice I would go with the rubber flaps. I had the hard plastic on my last truck and in the winter hard plastic break off. And the road slush builds up on them because there is no flex. In deep snow, they break off when you break up when you're are backing up.
I have gatorbacks... Am happy with them so far there a bit pricey but well made...they hang lower and IMHO do offer more protection from debris piling up on the running boards... no experience with them in deep snow.
Thanks guys. I will do the rears later on down the road. For now I'm just looking to keep the running boards a little cleaner. Hopefully one more year here on the East coast and then back to Alaska for the summers and then chase 65-70* temps for winter. Avoiding snow at all costs! Anybody have pics of their front Weathertechs or Gatorbacks with factory running boards?

Weathertech no drill molded flaps with factory running boards.
Here are the front Gatorback flaps with the no drill brackets.
Please excuse the messy truck, I had to cross muddy streams yesterday while hauling hay from the field. I Will get a bath this week.
Jackjude and glrret, thank you both for taking the time and EFFORT on this! I've scrolled up and down on both of your rigs 100 times and have come to NO conclusion yet. They both look good. Maybe the Gators hang down a little more, kind of hard to tell. We'll see what else pops up here, thanks again.
Husky molded plastic on the front and OEM Ford rubber ones on the rear. The Husky plastic ones are no drill and inexpensive but don't hang down as low as the Gatorbacks do. Better then nothing!
Paw, thanks for the pics. A guy has gotta love the White Gold!
No problem...glad I bought the White Gold instead of the Black one the dealer had parked next to mine. After a couple of black vehicles I learned my lesson. Too hot and hard to keep clean.
