Found one of my old trucks for sale on CL https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/c...244007624.html He's right about the doors.... The cab is rock solid and unmolested. It's the truck in my video about the '37 log truck. Just fun to see it again. Wondering if he'll get that for it. I sold it during the 'great recession' about 5 years ago.
Saw the ad. I'm going to be in Seattle in a couple of weeks and thought about looking at it if it is still for sale but I'm having trouble justifying another big truck but one never knows.
I think he'll find out that the big, slow trucks don't bring what a pickup will. The money is in that cab. A friend here on the island who is in his early 60's grew up in Portland chasing model a's with his dad. He told me they'd buy a clean AA and just leave the chassis sitting in the field, selling the cab for use on a pickup.
No, I owned it for maybe six years. I had pulled it from a barn in Ferndale Wa. Not sure I could find the pics, but had to move a split window VW to get it out with a tractor. I started it on my trailer while waiting for the ferry to arrive. The original owner had passed and the son was selling it. My son made a youtube video of it. 1936 ford 1.5 ton with load of logs. I think that is the title.
Sorry GB, I meant that as a joke. The seller is capitalizing on the barn find aspect, even tho he didn't find it there, nor has it been for many yrs. But I don't blame him, still a good key word/phrase for the ad and it's basically true.
I see they scrubbed off the Mt. Pickett woodworking door paint. If he had left it on, it would have got the big bucks for sure!

Apparently the seller has a few things to learn about 'marketing'
That is a nice old truck. I'd be tempted to have it shipped to the Southeast if it were at a more reasonable price. But, I'd have too much in it at anywhere near what he's asking now. I know with it having gone through your hands, the mechanicals would likely be sorted out.
I see it says $9K at the top of the ad, but $12K at the bottom. Car lot trick?

Just looked up my old CL ad for it. Turns out I sold it in 2015. Took 3 ad tries before I got a buyer. Sending you a pm.
About right. 45 is a bit wild. I mostly drove it around here on the ten acres. I think I went the 25 mile round trip to town twice. None of the lights were hooked up while I had it. Poor cloth wiring and I kept it six volt.

For me to use them, I need speed to be a little bit above that - say 55 or so cruise. IDK if an OD unit behind the trans would allow that to happen or you'd have to make bigger changes. I guess you get to a point where the changes would fundamentally alter what the truck is and I'd want it pretty much the way it was. I'd think updated brakes would be a required change also.
Nice old truck, I'm tempted, but just too much $$$ -
