I know the big trucks came out with full floating rear axle in 1934, so after that. That photo is a tease. Show us the rest of that barn fund and we can date it for you.

The axle is probably a standard late '30s Timken, would be my guess, based on the screw on hub cap. That wheel is what seems to me to be more unusual than others of the era. Looks like it might be an 18" with quite shallow offset. Might be similar to those used on early Marmon-Herrington Snogos. Stu

Thanks! Its not impossible that the rim is not original. This axle is under a home built tractor in Estonia. It has a **** germani truck engine. ***** also had some Ford trucks. This axle must be prewar. Because after the war Estonia became a member of soviet union...

Anyway, some pictures...

Both Ford Motor Co. & General Motors assembled vehicles for the Germans before/during WWII

Ford assembly plant located in Cologne. Adam Opel AG purchased by General Motors in 1931.

Stalin broke every agreement he made at the Yalta Conference.

When Churchill realized this, he said: "An iron curtain has descending over Eastern Europe."

Meanwhile...on the other side of the world, when the Japanese captured Singapore in 1942, they took advantage of the Ford assembly plant located there.

I have great appreciation for home made tractors, often called doodle bugs and that is a very awesome looking one. A few miles from me sits one similar with the belly mount mower and a flathead ford, wide 5 wheels and a 30s V8 pickup frill
