Manifold bolts question

Do the manifold to head bolts need to be sealed? Will oil seap out if not? Dont want to ruin this pretty new Edelbrock intake...

fe?

The manifold bolts do not need to be sealed... Your intake gasket is keeping everything sealed, use a quality intake gasket, most folks also lay a bead of RTV around the water passages, where you may have pitting on your cast iron heads.....and nothing replaces a good clean surface, heads should be shinny clean, revealing any and all pitting.....

I can't recall any manifold bolt that enters an oil passage so oil seepage shouldn't be a problem. I learned a long time ago from bitter experience to use a good anti-sieze on the threads of the bolts. This can save a lot of grief later.

Also install the distributor and follow the torque chart. Watch the distributor for clearance issues, keep turning the distributor, adjust clearance as you tighten the intake.
