I swapped out the brake lights and reverse lights for leds and the instrument indicators flash really fast. The actual lights flash normally. I have load equalizers and put one in the reverse light and that didn't fix it. Any ideas? It's just annoying. Not an actual issue
You may need to swap out your turn signal flasher relay for an electronic version. The e-flashers don't rely on heat build-up to actuate the bulbs on/off. OTOH, an e-flasher will also not let you know when a signal bulb has burned out. DISCLAIMER - I do not know what type of flasher relay Ford uses nowadays, so I may be totally out in left field on this subject.
They don't use any flashers anymore, But the dealer can turn off the bulb out and your good to go no need for any equalizers. You can do the same with ForScan.

What does that mean to turn off the bulb out. I was going to try and put the equalizers on the tail lights and not the reverse light to see if that works
You need to put the equalizers on anything that flashes 1 per bulb. So you need two for both sides. also for each front turn sig bulb. Easier to visit your dealer and have them turn off the bulb out in the settings. When you install led's it thinks there is a bulb out because led's draw less current so it fast flashes in the dash, like a bulbs out. Also you don't have to cut/crimp into your harness. You don't need any equalizers on single element bulbs reverse/tag/running.
Blinkers are controlled by the BCM... It is all computerized now. The dealer can use IDS and turn off the bulb out feature. Because LED uses a lot less power, the truck thinks it has a bulb burnt out due to little voltage being used. The BCM then commands a hyper flash (quick flash) to let you know it is out.
The dealer can turn this feature off so it will not think a bulb is burnt out and flash normal. Only downside is you will never know if a bulb is out.
Awesome thanks. I put load equalizers on both the lights on one side and same issue. So those didn't fix it. Sigh. So I'll call the dealer and hit them up. Thanks for the help
Dang. My local auto parts is now out of equalizers. I hurt have them on the right side (just did the rear). Should I look and spend the 15 bucks and install on the left or just go to dealer. I'm going to upgrade the front and headlights soon
