So I went to start my 2000 F150 and it wouldn't start. I've encountered this before and knew what to do: Grabbed a screw driver and jumped the terminals on the starter solenoid and it starts up. Get a replacement solenoid, change it out and it starts right up. Turn it off to do a couple of other things, go to start it again to move it and it won't start. Seems like the starter is shot, so I replace that, solenoid seems bad again, change that, it starts and then won't start again.
I am at a loss. Changed the solenoid twice and its a new starter, which is good. Truck just won't start. Jumping the solenoid doesn't do the trick, and when I turn the key, it makes the click sound but nothing else. What am I missing?
Check and clean the ground cable at the starter and the one to the firewall near the battery. Check the voltage at the starter Positive cable. I hade to replace both of the cables to the starter. Well the positive cable was corroded inside the casing so I replaced both.
