After I shut my truck off I can hear a small pump like sound on the drivers side of my truck... I was told its most likely the waste gate solenoid, I'd like to confirm as well as how to fix this. Someone mentioned replacing the wiring harness to the waste gate.
Sounds like the waste gate to me. To confirm, next time you shut off your truck and the buzzing starts press on the brake. If it instantly goes away it's the waste gate. My '11 started doing it around 20k miles, which was about 70k miles ago. Ford used to replace them early on, although determined nothing was malfunctioning and stopped doing it.
Waste gate. Mine does it too. You can replace the vacuum harness to it if it's too annoying for you.
The DEF pump running in reverse to evacuate the line from the injector back to the tank sounded like a dull whistling noise from under the driver's side on mine, and nothing under the hood. (Mine no longer does that either though since it had weight loss surgery.)

Oh, so Bear had gastric bypass coupled with a bowel resection huh?
Monty and I were goofing off and may have led to some confusion. I have not done anything to remedy my wastegate solenoid. I live with the racket when I shut down. The noise I previously spoke of that I no longer hear at shutoff, is the DEF pump running backward to evacuate the lines, as my truck no longer requires DEF.
