Has there been any maintenance to the truck recently? Visits to the dealer?

How old are the batteries? Have either or both been replaced?

You might try disconnecting the batteries for a few minutes and see if the problem still exist when you connect them back.

If it is telling you to pull off the road, the thing that used to trip that fairly routinely was a faulty EGT sensor. A reflash corrected that so that we will no longer be shut down by it. Do you know if you ever got that reflash done? I don't remember right off hand if it was a recall or if it was a TSB. If you have a scanner or access to one, see if any codes pop up for EGT.

This is what I was going to say as well. Sounds like an emissions failure of some sort of a fuel delivery issue.

I thought about fuel too Monty, but he indicates it's not even turning over. Low fuel pressure should still allow it to turn over, right?

Yep, guess I missed that part. Wonder if the starter cables are tight and the bolts are all still tight as well.

Sadly it looks like its the exhaust system is taking a dump, which is causing the trucks computer to see it as over heating, thus shutting it down dead to keep it from damaging the turbo... kinda odd that was giving me a battery light and a check engine light but after pulling 16 codes all linked to the exhaust system... what else could it be? also was never re-flashed made it 159959 miles no problems. Was told by local exhaust shop it would cost me 5k to delete the crappy system out of the truck or spend 10 to 15k to rebuild to oem.

you may have some EGT's bad....they are like $50 each........EGT #4 is the one that will shut you down if you have not had the ECU flashed.
