86 Aerostar clutch problem

I have an '86 Aerostar with the 2.3l engine and 5-speed trans. Two years ago, I had a clutch job done, and everyting was fine for about 3000 miles. Then, I started hearing and feeling grinding when the van is stopped, and the clutch pedal fully depressed. If I lift the pedal just a bit, the grinding stops. This problem comes and goes at random, and sometimes it's fine for months. I've taken it back to the shop that did the work, but of course it does do it there.
It doesn't seem to affect the driveability of the van, and it shifts fine, but it sounds bad. Any ideas?

Sounds like the throwout (release) bearing may be failing. Did they change it when they replaced the clutch?

Well, it sounds like the replacement is starting to go, and probably needs to be replaced soon. I guess 2 years is out of the warranty period.
