Hi guys! I have my 2005 F-250 6.0L Powerstroke. Thing is, I have this issue where when I turn the wheel at a dead stop or at low speeds. I get this weird feedback in my steering wheel of a shaky vibration, like it’s skipping. And frankly, feels like the whole cab is shaking. I’ve replaced the power steering pump, and tightened the steering box. What could it be?
Jack up the front wheels, one at a time and check for play from side to side by trying to rock side to side......this will tell you it's tie rods, or perhaps the drag link, etc.
Next step, take and try to rock the tires from top to bottom, if there is play then you may be looking at wheel hubs or ball joints.
Are you sure you don't have air in the power steering system?
How did you tighten up the box? Most of us here would advise against that.
Hey navistarnut! I just got done checking your recommendation of jacking her up and rocking the tires. There’s no significant or if any movement in either direction.
Second, I don’t know if there is air in there, but that seems like a very good point. How would I go about bleeding the air out?
Third, I released the 5/8 locking nut and tightened with a Allen wrench.

Just how did you do that?
This PDF has the correct way to do that. If you go to far then you will
put excessive wear on the sector shaft gear teeth to the point in some
cases that they can crack and chip.
