C60 = C600 Tilt Cab (gas).

B = 300 1V I-6.

U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant.

853372 = 1966.

C600 Tilt Cab (gas); 20,000 lbs. GVWR

691: 6 = Black all Vinyl / 91 = 91A Standard Tilt Cab.

M = Clark model 250V 5 Speed Direct or Spicer/Dana model 6452-A 5 Speed Direct.

74 = Timken model H140 Single Speed Rear Axle / 6.80-1 / 17,000 lbs. Axle Capacity.

20,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

I knew you'd come through. Now I just have to figure out what motor and transmission are in it because the guy who has it has not swapped motors and its a v8 of some sort.

Is there anywhere else that a vin could be on that truck? I'm talking to the guy who owns it and the previous owner wrecked the truck and replaced the cab so the tag on the door isn't right. He is pretty sure it is a 60 or 61.

1948 and newer trucks are registered by their specific VIN's.

There is a hidden VIN stamped on a frame rail, but where it's located on a C series, I haven't a clue.

Suggest asking this and further questions in the LARGE TRUCK forum. Most members of this forum have 1961/66 F100/250/350 pickups.

1957/86 C series cabs are similar, but 1958/60's have dual headlamps, while 1957 & 1961/86's have single headlamps.

Alright. He is going to get the title and see if it says the same vin or not.
