I bought one of these as well. I could not figure out how to remove the stock door without damaging it.
Though I did not spend a ton of time looking at it...
Same here. I'm usually good at this stuff but can't seem to pop off the plastic cover piece without putting a lot of stress on the aluminum skin. Any tips out there?

Ok so you have to tug on the top of the housing pulling it down and out away from the truck...when it comes foward keep pressure on it and lift up slightly and then pull straight out.....the body will flex and move about....just keep working it
I Wouldent worry too much about the aluminum body...the plastic tabs on the housing are weaker than the truck body...
Additional good news is that if you break the plastic tabs on accident the whole housing assembly is only $45.....ask me how I know.

Thanks! I was able to get it doing exactly what you described.
It helps, if you're alone, to sit along side the truck on the ground and reach up to pop the bottom tabs with one arm and apply upward pressure on the door assembly with the other arm until both bottom tabs clear their keepers. Then pop the top two tabs while lightly pushing outward on the assembly from under the truck. The tab buttons fortunately don't need more than finger pressure to pop them through.

So let me ask you a question since the instructions weren't very robust. When you popped the tabs the next step says to unhook the spring and use a punch to knock out the pin holding the fuel door on to the assembly. After you got the tabs loose did you pull the whole thing out fuel door hinge and all or did you have to take the pin out from behind the body panel? Thanks.
keeps idiots for contaminating your fuel with something. Wont stop them from stealing your fuel, they dont bother with siphoning any more they just puncture the tanks. Also helps you to keep from adding Def to the wrong tank from inattention
until you get a locking def cap as well, it won’t keep them from contaminating your engine. They just put the crap in the def tank.
