96 F250 dash

96 F250 dash
While troubleshooting the fuel gauge issues I had previously (now fixed), the dash had all the little barbs break and the switch is floating without being held by anything. Just got the truck home late last night but it appears a new dash is in my future. There doesn't appear to be a lot to changing these out. Before I buy a new dash, is there anything that would complicate the install for a do-it-yourselfer? This is the one I am thinking about. Also, how is the fuel tank switch retained on the dash? Thanks for any suggestions. Here is the dash:

The dash is the WHOLE assembly, all the way across the front of the truck. You're not replacing that, are you? And you're not replacing the cluster, right? Just the cluster bezel? The bezel bolts into the dash. The bolts are behind the trim strips that snap on/off. If it's a diesel, there's the panel of lights on the right side of the bezel that has to be disconnected. You also have to remove the headlight switch ****. And as said, the tank selector switch. The turn signal switch is on the column and stays put.

As mentioned you don't need to remove the entire dash, just the bezel around the gauges. To do so (working from memory here)...
Pry off the trim strips on either side.
Take out the screws you see under the trim.
Remove the headlight ****. Rotate it until you see the slot at the base, then use a thin screwdriver blade to reach in there and pry up on the clip while pulling the **** off.
Disconnect the fuel tank selector switch or in your case just leave it dangle for now.
If this truck has a diesel then disconnect the wiring to the diesel-specific annunciator lights on the right side.
Lower the column (a few bolts) OR if you are careful you can just tilt the wheel all the way down and remove the bezel.

Posted a link to an online auction where they called it a dash cluster bezel. Sorry if I confused anyone and that is why I posted a link to the thing. I am totally unfamiliar with any trim strips associated with the dash cluster bezel. My old GAS 7.5L doesn't seem to have any trim. Most all the innards in the truck have been removed at one time of the other and most have broken fasteners. I have fixed most due the rattling but not all. The dash cluster bezel seems to be the latest after my ace mechanic worked on the fuel system and the little tank toggle.
