2004 Navigator Rough Idol
My 2004 Lincoln navigator is very rough at idol but runs smooth when I give it gas. Someone said my VCT may be stuck or bad. I looked at Youtube videos of VCT replacement but in all the videos the VCT's are up front in the valve covers. On the Navigator they aren't there. Anyone know where the heck they might be located?

variable cam timing can make a rough idle if the timing is off ( STUCK)... go to the 2004- 2008 F150 site and read up on VCT and cam chains.... Your in the EXPLORER section here......... the solenoids are up front by the cam chains / timing cover.

I'd start with the simpler and likely less expensive things first - vacuum leaks, spark plugs, coils, dirty MAF sensor. Especially if your Navigator is nearing being due for a tune up.
