I know something is missing from my control unit but not sure what and I can't find a good photo of it.
The arms you move to adjust the temp don't stay on the pins so they can pivot. Looks like some kind of plate goes across the top where the 2 screw holes are and the pins. I'm sure I can make something out of a scrap metal I have but if is missing something important it would be nice to know before I reinstall it all
Thanks the marks on the lever show that sort of washer too. I have been searching online all morning and no luck finding this part at all. Might be able to find some washer that will work for that. I'm needing both top and bottom
The levers pivot on nylon bushings that cannot be replaced, as FoMoCo never sold these parts by themselves.
FoMoCo only sold the complete assy., and there are several different types, depending on the year and if the truck has factory installed integral A/C or just a heater.
No signs of having AC on the truck so guessing heat only.
Does anyone make these still? My truck is 78 F150
Or if someone know what this unit is called so I can search it easier would help too. Looking in my NPD catalog I see it in the drawing but it doesn't have a name or part number for this unit.
Not sure about the hi/Lo vent system. Need to read on what that is and check the truck.
My unit does have the two adjusters that pivot on the pins, left side has fan speed switch and right side is another switch but no markings to what it might be for.

Left: Heater blower switch / Right: Fuel tank selector switch, used with dual fuel tanks.
No dual fuel tanks, no fuel tank selector switch. If the right side has this switch, more than likely a previous owner replaced the heater control panel with one from a truck with dual tanks.
The vents in the center of the dash used with factory A/C were also used with the optional Hi/Lo Comfort Vent System.
I did wondering about my truck having duel fuel tanks but I just thought they put the wire on all the trucks. Plus my driver side bed panel has been changed so the easy way to tell doesn't work.
I will take a look tonight and some more photos of the panel.
The duel fuel tank switch would that be a small silver toggle switch under the dash left of the steering wheel? It has a small switch I assumed was for lights at some point.
The dual fuel tank switch would that be a small silver toggle switch under the dash left of the steering wheel? No such thing after 1972.
1967/72 F100/350's with in-cab & optional 25 gallon auxiliary fuel tanks have a manually controlled fuel tank selector valve located on the floor adjacent to the drivers side of the seat.
The selector switch (it only changes the dash fuel gauge from one tank to the other) is located under the dash (on a bracket) to the left of the steering column.
1973/74's with dual tanks used a similar valve, but the switch is located in the heater control panel.
