Per what I have reviewed here, the EB likes fresh oil. If it were my truck, I'd go with the 5k dump cycles. I do 5k in my 5.0 truck, though I don't put a ton of miles on annually.
There are examples of high mileage EB's online with owners following Ford's maintenance cycles. However, I wouldn't go over 5,000 miles without doing an oil analysis. Of particular concern for me is fuel dilution and the impact on the oil viscosity.

As usual, an excellent post. Fuel dilution can be an issue and with already thin oil in the crankcase, that's not a good thing.
I'm not convinced that full syn oil is the answer but everyone has their own level for peace of mind. I've kept using the MC 5W-30 semi-syn since I bought my truck new and I've kept the oil changed every 5K.
There are plenty of articles online that suggest that dirty oil is the main culprit for failing timing sets and cam phasers.
I really wish Ford would come down off it's high horse and rewrite the maintenance guide as it refers to ecoboost engines and recommend a more practical dump cycle such as 5K -7.5K.
If you can smell gasoline on your dipstick, get that oil changed ASAP.
