Riots, what did you expect? Government locked people down for months, police killed a person. It’s the law of reciprocity... it works both ways. (Good or bad) Newton’s third law also comes to mind. Add mirror neurons to the equation and well you see the result.
Im not condoning what is happening, but simple psychology explains it.
Great day here, an afternoon rain storm and the sun is trying to peak out again while I have chicken on the BBQ and beer in hand. I’m ready for a swim in the pool, fired up the wood burning pool heater last night and the water is currently 84 which is 25* warmer then the ambient air!
Now you are speaking my language! 25 years as a pool and spa technician. I would love to see some pics of your wood-fired heater. I spend some time on PoolSpaForum and TroubleFreePools as a result of all the help I get here. I have nothing to contribute on the subject of trucks so have passed it forward to pool and spa owners. I have helped many hundreds of people solve their troubles because you all helped me solve mine.

RJ there isn’t much to see.
Basically a double barrel gasification wood burning stove I made. It has hundreds of feet of copper curled around both barrels and insulated with some ceramic insulation. The copper pipe is hooked to a 3 speed pump used in hydronic heating to circulate the water thro heater and back into pool. I built an enclosure around it with mostly scrap I had left from building the garage.
That heater is sweeeeeet!!! I started building a waste oil fired boiler last year that I’m planning to use to heat my house (in floor hydronic/radiant heat) and a hot tub. It’s a retired 100gal propane water heater with a custom firebox I built under it. I’m trying to design a burner that is sized to maintain 100-150* water with a constant flame. My first burner was too big and was inefficient (poor burn) when throttled down. I’m working on a small burner I can run HOT for initial burn to get water up to temp fast (for hot tub) and then run a smaller flame to maintain the temps I need to heat the house through winter.
The rioters in ATL did a little damage again last night, but the city, counties, state and National Gaurd kept it to a minimum. Not here *******s - go away. This isn’t limp wristed MN where they just decided to ‘let it burn’ on Friday night...
By far my favorite part of this story is the REAL Atlantans were out early Sat AM and again today VOLUNTEERING to clean up the damage and mess left by the *******s (mostly from out of town). I didn’t see that in any of the other cities.
They damaged the Children’s Museum. WTF is wrong with people??? That place is so freakin awesome. I took my kids there many times over the years.
Again, these aren’t people from ATL or even GA. They came here not to honor Mr. Floyd or ‘seek change’. They came here to tear **** up.
You can say that again. It only took them several nights of carnage and a false-start deployment of a woefully low number of National Guard troops before getting it kinda right last night.
Similar to ATL, the REAL community has been out in force cleaning up which is heartwarming.
What boggles my mind is how a lot of people here still don't get the concept of "you are your own first responder" when it comes to personal safety.

At least the chirus nonsense is over now.
Funded hate groups to cause civil unrest and racial tensions. It's all over the info stations. Even MSM is now talking about it because too many know and it cannot be hidden. These are not random groups of thugs like they would have us believe.
Stay safe and stay out of the cities. I have friends back home in San Diego County that have been hearing gunshots and sirens all night long. People are scared.

Thanks Jason, it definitely gets the job done. Looking inside of the bottom barrel you can barely see the pipe connecting the lower to upper barrel (in picture), it goes all the way down to about 4”’s from the bottom of the barrel and creates gasification. The internal pipe connecting the upper to lower barrel is 3/8” thick steel because the original pipe burned out. The back of the barrels are also reinforced with 1/4” plate steel because the backs burned out to. It gets HOT! The ceramic insulation keeps the heat inside which keeps the copper pipe hot around the barrels. Doesn’t look to pleasing but helps.
Im interested in seeing your waste oil furnace when the time comes. My neighbor has a store bought one that he heats his garage with, it is a little finicky at times but works great.

I heated my last shop (40x80x16 and faaaar from air tight, rusty old metal building) with this double barrel stove.
Hmm. Do i spy dually rotors and an oil cooler? I think you have 7.3 on the brain....
Well, I’ve sold literally $15k in loose parts since I moved out of that shop and still have a Mountain of 7.3 stuff - without really ‘collecting’ any more of it.
Getting packed up and headed out shortly for a camping trip. I thought the spillway at the outflow of our pond looked good enough to share with the FTE.
A bit of nature and a calming waterfall that we often enjoy. There is a bench just out of view to the right of the waterfall and about 20 feet away. We often sit there with the dogs for a bit after checking the mail. During a calm wind day, and if the wind is blowing right, we can hear the waterfall from the house.

Have a great Sunday everyone!
I’ve always wanted a waterfall in my yard. Not to easy in the south.. is that pond spring fed so constant flow?
It is fed by a natural cold water spring and a creek that come together about 40 yards before the inlet to the pond. It is actually Paynes Creek which eventually flows into Lake Hartwell about a mile downstream. If a log or something washes in and there is no wind, it takes about about 2 hours before it gets to the outlet which is where the waterfall is in the picture. Good flow, no mosquito nesting pond here sir...
