Happy Father's Day Chet!!

If anyone is interested (Sous ahem), check out "VehCor" on Youtube. He does super quality rebuilds of trucks he gets at auction that have been "totaled". He's funny and really knows what he's doing. Just a heads up. I'll post a link to one to make it easy for everyone.

I love build videos like that! I watch a few YouTubers that go to places like Copart and rebuild them to factory specifications or better and resell them.

If I won the lottery, I would get a L99 or 2000 ZF6 and take it up to SkySkiJason and have him completely break it down and rebuild it with an unlimited budget. I would only specify that it should look and run like it is brand new with ~400 RWHP and that when the hood is up, it should bring tears of joy to my eyes...

Now THAT would be something I would spend some lottery money on....no big houses and sports cars for me. I would do exactly the same thing. Find a 2000 CCLB 4x4 SRW with a ZF-6 and make it brand new again. Ike would be fine except it isn't CC, so sadly he'd have duties relegated to farm truck and Baja explorer LOL

Another YouTuber I follow is this guy... https://www.youtube.com/user/pbeu135/featured

He is kind of goofey at times and his intro is crap, but his content is great in my opinion. He is a Ford diesel tech and does A LOT of work on 6.7's and the occasional 7.3, 6.0 and a few 6.4's.

Entertaining to see how many problems the 6.7's have that are just stupid crap. He does everything from short block replacement to electrical faults.

I have watched that guy. He has some really good knowledge, IMO....but yeah, kinda goofy LOL. I think he's pretty popular around the 6.0 forum.

And happy father day to you, Byron, et al. We've had a really great spring here for the first time in recent memory and today is another beaut. Had a decent day at an auction yesterday and now I have some stuff to clean up for use.

Nothing much here, I have no kids and our fathers are long gone.

I scored a couple of 250 gallon (I think) gas tanks with Gasboy pumps. They'll take a paint job and I need to rig filters on them as they have none now. I scored the most gihugic bottle jack I've ever seen and it was less than what the 10 tonners brought. Now when I need to work on my tractor I won't need worry about my little bottle jacks. Got a stand fan, a couple of shop shelves and a box with large pipe wrench that I could use and a few other tools that are always good to have extras of...hammer, needle nose pliers, box wrench. Several of the other things I was looking at went for more than I was willing to pay. There was a nice shop press but it went for over $900 and there is no way I was paying that much for it.

I once watched an air compressor go for $40 above new price. Sometimes people at auctions lose their minds.

Yep, auctions are fickle and you have to go to see what's what. I have seen stuff worth thousands go for hundreds and seen stuff worth 40 go for 60. Lately prices were too high but this one did have some good deals for the buyers, most of which was not anything I needed. One time I scored a blasting cabinet, sand blasting set up and about 6 bags of blasting sand for $31. It was dead last item auctioned off, the auctioneer was tired and grouped all of that stuff together and everyone else's pickup trucks were full and couldn't get it out of there.

Evening y'all! Happy Fathers day to all my fellow dads!

Been a busy few weeks at the new job. Between being in MN for my onboarding and then field work in DC checking vendors there hasn't been much free time. Not many miles being put on my truck either.
Lots of catching up to do, but busy weekends don't allow for that. Back up to MN Monday for the work week.

Maybe some down time in the hotel later this week.

Picture looking down on I70 this past Saturday. There’s still a significant amount of snow at elevation.

Love the picture. Do you hunt John? Had some friends go to Colorado every year for Elk. Never got there myself.
