Well one last trip to Michigan begins tonight at 9 after I get out of work. Driving up there, staying with my brother a couple of days, and heading back Saturday pulling my trailer with all my stuff in it. Buford is going to get some MILES on him. Kinda scared to take a southern truck to Michigan... I hope he doesn't get a fever and come down with rust...
Kate and I met @John in OkieLand for lunch in Commerce GA today. Very nice person and we are grateful to have been introduced to another FTE'r.
John, enjoy the rest of your time in GA and travel home safely.
In the photo below, I am on the left.

here is my "old ride" which is now in the garage below me, at my son's home in JorJa...
2 years ago, I suffered a heatstroke while riding it, and almost went down into a deep gravel ravine.......; just barely recovered from the direction it was headed, and parked it on the side of the road, and never got on it again.... 3 months later, I gave it to my son here in Dawsonville, GA
I bought this bike to replace the red 1500 below
this is what caused my retirement from the Fire Department, got off the clock at 1500 hours, and at 1505 hours met up with Mr. Penski,
at 1515 hours was in the best Emergency Room in the state of Arizona
this semi tractor, had just left the mntc shop for brake service. the right rear ABS link was left off of the vacuum booster, the Traffic Investigator said the truck did exactly what a 3 brake vehicle would w/o the right rear wheel providing any braking action... it went 90 degrees to the left and merged me into the Media wall. 8 days in ICU, 15 days in Recovery, six months in Therapy/Recovery 3 concussions.

Greenville SC is just up the road. When I was active duty I was stationed at the Donaldson Center on the south side of Greenville where Lockheed Martin has a presence. I would drive back and forth from Hartwell to Greenville every day. Good to see things are progressing nicely Pete.
Yes, the Paper Industry is indeed a small (and shrinking) world. I'm leaving the manufacturing side (again) and will be jumping back across the fence to a consulting role. I'll be joining the Wood PLC Specialty Team in their Greenville office as a senior process specialist. The US operations for Wood PLC used to be known as Amec, and prior to that was Amec Foster-Wheeler.

Lol. Awesome insult to injury pic. 50ish year old Ford towing in a newish broken Chevy to their dealership
I've only had my 71 F100 since I was 15yo in '96. Dad had it from 73-79. Uncle got it from him and pretty much only used it during deer seasons and let it sit in barn till 96
I'd love to do a 7.3 swap in it, go from that 10mpg 360FE to probably 20mpg

This one does 15 pretty consistently when empty but the 12.5" wide 35s don't help that. It's been a few years since I've had 255/85-16 or 265/75-16s on it and it does a bit better. Unfortunately the smaller tires just don't look as good and I can't go lower on the suspension as it's stock (no body lift either).
