Well, after months of the weld/grind routine I finished the frame!! Suspension mods done, boxed, sand blasted and painted. Now I get to install the front suspension and may be even get to leave it assembled!
A big high five from me. Cleaning up the years of crud was my least favorite thing to do on mine. And I did none of the nice fab work you have done, and done well. You have a beautiful foundation to build on from here, I hope you enjoy your build as it takes shape as much as I do tinkering on mine.
Thanks Jim, it is definitely the milestones along the way that keep us going for sure. Looking forward to the next phase, engine and transmission rebuild.
Is that a assigned vin or serial number on the top of the right rail?
B
When cleaning up the frame rails the original frame number was still fairly legible and I know in some states you can be asked to prove the frame is part of the original truck or face more paperwork!!
So I decided to spray the frame number in a clear coat and then use a cover plate sealed with RTV with the frame number stamped on. That's what you see so if needed in the future the original can be inspected.

Ok, that makes sense. That is a clean frame you have there. I like it!
