Hi my truck started leaking atf from an unknown location the other week. The leak seems to have stopped though. I got the atf back to where its supposed to be. Is this possible? It was pouring out fluid out underneath the truck. And ive taken for a few mile trips and it hasnt leaked so far. Havent dared to take it far since this happened. I was told it looked like it was coming from the torque converter. I wasnt the one using the truck at the time. Anyone ever heard of anything like this?

More than likely, your front seal is leaking out the inspection cover hole. This will happen with a hot transmission, bad seal, and especially when in reverse gear.

 

This is the best picture i could get. Do you think it will leak again? Or will it not be reliable until the seal is changed? Im not sure if you can see the oil residue on it.
