Which dept. at Ford do I send my app. in for my purple heart and Medal of Honor for changing my own plugs on my '91 Aero.
Sheeesh... three hours, with a couple of breaks in between. Found out I have the coil pak version, which the previous had installed regular Autolites in. This go around she got the Autolite Double Platinums with a dab of Nickel Shield for good measure.
Now I've got a startability problem. Used to be she would never start the first time, only the second time. Now she starts first time right away.....I won't know how to act.
Now if I could just find the engineer who thinks you have to have 10 year old's hands with eyeballs on your fingers to do this. I mean one more inch clearence would not have broke Ford.
Took me about 15 minutes to change my plugs. Did them all from underneath the hood with a 3/8 drive ratchet and swivel extention. I already had the alternator out though.

I bought (and most people do) the platinum ones just for the simple fact that you don't have to change them so often. Trust me, one less time you have to change them out is worth it for me.
There are several threads here on changing spark plugs. Do a search & you'll find lots of info.
Quickly... PS plugs are easily accessible from the wheelwell if you take off the RF tire & let the suspension droop. DS plugs aren't too bad. Take the throttle linkage cover off so you can see them. The foolwing tools are very handy to have: Flex head ratchet, stubby ratchet, palm ratchet (a ratchet head only - no handle), offset (deep) box end wrench that fits the hex on your spark plug socket (tyically 3/4).
The offset wrench is invaluable for the rear plugs on both sides.
