Hi all need some advice please ,
My 88 f350 crew can full size box is sitting dead with a bad starter and solinod ( I think ) about 200 m away from my farm - I am going up on the weekend with truck and trailer to haul it back.
Trailer has a no winch so I am wondering I feel my 1000 lbs 120 v pulls all winch would be enough to roll it up on the trailer ?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer , found lots of comments on winch size to mount on a truck and use for recovery but nothing that comments on if a simple roll onto trailer .
Once I get the truck back to the farm I will post some pic and I am sure I will be here asking for advice .

Why don't you go up with a new starter and solenoid and get it started and drive it home or on your trailer.

A 9000# winch mounted to the front of a car hauler trailer wouldn't pull my 2002 F350 dually onto the trailer. It got the front tires up but wouldn't get the back. I had to double the winches strength with a ****** block and it still struggled.

That was on flat ground if it was downhill a little that might help but I wouldn't even consider a 1000# winch.

That's when I learned the definition of the term "line pull".

A 9000# winch won't lift 9000# straight up off the ground that's not what that means, it will actually only lift around 1800#.

It will supposedly roll something that weighs 9000# across a flat surface, which makes no sense to me because is that 9000# on metal wheels on a railroad track (I could move that) or a 9000# truck on 30psi tires on black top?
