I am 60 years young and still going strong after a liver transplant three years ago. I guess I am probably one of the oldest on this site. I do feel like I am 35 yet sometimes. I am retired, but I stay very busy all the time with many projects going.
I feel like the antique here. I just turned 67 last week. Retired medical school faculty with 4 kids, 13 grand kids and 1 great-grandchild due later this summer. My first Ford was a '41 Coupe, flathead V-8 that I hot-rodded (that was the term we used in 1952), lowered and customized. Boy, I wish I still had it! Current Ford truck is a 1985 F250 with 351W.
It has been interesting to watch how things have changed so much over the years but how much auto and truck lovers are the same. One of the great things about this site is the diversity of ages, outlooks, skills and knowlege. You guys keep me young. Thanks
Only one 14 year older? Make that two.(I'm 14.)
I am a diehard 7.3 PowerStroke diesel fan. Let me put it to you this way.
I go to my great uncles plant nursery for a couple of hours just to listen to all of the diesels go by. I have a bookmark that I made that has every spec of the 7.3 and 6.0 PowerStroke on it. I can tell what kind of diesel an engine is by just listening to it.
If that is not diehard, then I do not know what diehard is.
I don't have a truck yet, but I will list a few from my family.
1996 F-250 S/C L/B 4X4, 7.3 L PowerStroke diesel, E40D automatic, 3.55 gears, straightpiped. Soon to come Tymar air filter, chip, and 4 inch exhaust. 130,000 miles (my favorite)
1997 Expedition XLT 2wd, 5.4 L V8 every option. 90,000 miles
1994 F-150 S/C S/B 2wd, 300 I6, 5 speed manual, 3.55 gears. 170,000 miles
1987 F-150 R/C L/B 2wd, 300 I6, 4 speed granny, 3.08 gears, duals with echo chambers. high 200,000 miles
hey, im a youngin in to. im 16 and love those fords. like frost i know all the specs of all diesels and modern gas V8's and a lot of older V's. within 1 second of listening to an engine i can tell you what diesel it is and if its an old one or not.
