7.3 surges and loses power
Hey all, this is my first post as you can see!
I just bought a 1996 f250 7.3 and it's been giving me 3 different issues.
1. When I first start the truck, it surges and jumps up and down about 3-10 times, then stops and runs fine.
2. Then when I'm driving it around it suddenly loses power out of nowhere, but just for a second, and usually doesn't die.
3. Twice now I've been driving around and the truck will just completely bog out. I'll have barely enough power to keep the engine running, and drag myself home. It will rev up extremely slow.
I replaced the fuel pump, and fuel filter yesterday and still has all the same problems. Although I haven't been able to replicate problem number 3 yet, because I haven't driven it around enough, and it happens pretty rarely, so who knows if that helped or not.
I have a few ideas of what it mights be, but they're all expensive items to buy if guessing, and a more educated guess would be helpful.
Could maybe be HPOP, CPS, MAF, IPR, ICP, or UVCH?
Thanks in advance!

I have the exact same problem. I just got mine back from having the problem checked out and the mechanic unplugged the High pressure Oil censor and cleaned connectors and plugged back in. He wasn't able to replicate the problem I was having so we figured loose connector.
I will be replacing that censor. I was also told that it would be a good idea to replace the cam shaft censor as well.
