my F350 still has about 1/2" rake.
i want to do the add-a-pack but am not sure about the increased travel with them and having the leafs slap the upper overload spring. I would also need to source longer u-bolts locally. I need to keep my payload
The best upgrade you can do to these trucks is the full deaver springs. It's such an amazing ride improvement, really blew me away.
BUT, they lower your payload about 1,000 lbs. So they are out for me. The add a pack replaces the stock blocks and improves the ride a lot, AND you keep your current payload rating. I think they're a better option if you're towing. It should be almost level with the add a pack.
You can always add airbags afterwards for about $400.
Awesome thank you for the info. I think I will start with commuter kit and and add the full springs plus Air Bags later. Carli did say they recommend air bags that detach from the axle I guess for increased travel. So does that mean air lift would not work with full replacement springs?
The ride is probably more similar to the HD springs. The biggest benefit they offer is that you get another 2.5" of suspension travel, whereas with the spacer you still have stock travel, just at a higher start point. Its kind of like swapping to Fox/Icons over the Ranchos. Its a firmer ride...but firm in a good way...if that makes sense.

A good suspension is firm but forgiving. The truck will take the hit and keep going like nothing ever happened, no bounce, no waiting for the truck to recover, just one rounded "POP" and back to business like it never happened.
I agree with Tricon and Joneser5000. They're barely stiffer, but in a good way. They absorb bumps and just keep the truck planted. Instead of bouncing all over the road. It's not a good feeling having your truck bounce all over the road on a 55mph bend around a corner. Especially when it's 1 lane each direction.
I used to have the softer springs ford offers also. Good for straight line smooth road driving, but terrible for rough back canyon roads. I have about 10 miles of canyon road commute each way to work and the Carli springs are much better than stock. I don't even have my new front shocks installed yet.
My buddy also has a 17, but with the hd springs. He drove my truck for 5 minutes and said "this is how a truck should drive." decided he was going the same route as me. He just pieced together his own "commuter" kit, but no brake lines. He's using the fox performance 2.0 shocks from autoanything and a readylift trac bar bracket from amazon.

I think the AirLifts will work with some Daystar buckets but I'm not sure. You might need the long travel bags which are about $800. Carli should know for sure. Someone on this board bought em, but I can't remember who...

What about getting some fabricated rear blocks from PMF that are 1/2" taller? Trevor builds them in 1/2" increments.
After having the "basic leveling" kit installed yesterday... All I can say is WOW! The ride is a little better than stock but there are 2 major advantages and one is something I didn't think about.
1st - Obviously the outside look of the truck, even the wife thought it looks great now.
2nd - The interior seat angle. My 8 year old was the first to notice and say something. "Hey Dad, I don't slide forward off the seat anymore." And it's true, the seats now "hold" you in the correct location without a slight lean forward.
I'm super excited! Now I just have to wait for the trackbar to come in and for the wife to agree to the wheels and tires I want to order.
