SoCal Super Trucks was pushing Icon over Carli. I ordered the parts from a different shop in Montclair instead.
That makes sense since SCST is in Icon's back yard. They used to do a lot of stuff with them back in the day when Icon was Donahoe Racing...and the owner was busted for child pornography. That's still one of the reasons I stay away from Icon. Sucks to punish everyone in that company, but I can't give that sicko any of my money, no matter how little he's involved now.
You talking to Outlaw here in the OC? What shop is pushing ICONs?
I'd go with Carli for sure as others have said. You can visit their shop yourself if you have any questions or want to test drive their truck.
Rebel Offroad pushes Icon too. I went in to inquire about Carli but they just wanted to talk about Icon. I did hours of research, if I wanted Icon I would have asked for it.
To the OP:
From what I've heard they are both quality products but as you see here Carli seems to be the #1 choice for most people.
talk to Cody at CJC Offroad in Bellflower. They took care of me and my truck. Tell them what you want to do and what concerns you have and they will put something together for you that you will be happy with.

To my understanding Bill Donahoe has no involvement with ICON, Don't quote me on that as i could be wrong..
Here is why i chose ICON, I'm in Louisiana and there is not one reputable off road shop other than 4wp that i would trust doing business with.. Carli is hard to get east of Dallas TX..
Had i had the ability to go with Carli i probably would have, BOTH companies put out quality products.. ICON offers more to just Ford/Ram trucks which a lot of Toyota folks go with..
In my opinion you can't go wrong with either comapny.. I spoke with Dan @ Carli many time's and is one knowledgeable man in the industry..
I didn't enjoy customer service at icon nor did I like there squeaky shocks either. I called them several time. I bought the lift and they sold me old stock. They apparently upgraded shocks to rebuildable ones and they sent me the old ones not able to be rebuilt that it was a poopy business deal
I'm intrigued by the 2.5 inch lift springs. I have the 2 inch spacers up front currently. Is there a big difference in ride between the two? I have the softest springs Ford offers (no plow package or camper package or heavy service front springs). Sorry for the hijack

The ride is probably more similar to the HD springs. The biggest benefit they offer is that you get another 2.5" of suspension travel, whereas with the spacer you still have stock travel, just at a higher start point. Its kind of like swapping to Fox/Icons over the Ranchos. Its a firmer ride...but firm in a good way...if that makes sense.

Interesting. Firmer huh? Well that's not something I want then. Looking to keep a nice soft ride. Mostly annoyed with the roads around my house.... a lot of patches and very bumpy from all the snow plowing/pot holes.
The softer the suspension the more "bounce" you are going to feel.No one likes a truck that hits a bump and bounces all over the place.
A good suspension is firm but forgiving. The truck will take the hit and keep going like nothing ever happened, no bounce, no waiting for the truck to recover, just one rounded "POP" and back to business like it never happened.
Hey Guys I'm looking at a Commuter kits as well for the level. My question is on the rear it looks like Carlie offers the add a pack and the full replacement springs for another 865.
Do these also improve rear unloaded ride as well. It also said they increase lift by 2 inches but allow you to remove the rear block to negate axle wrap. Does that mean they un-level a leveled truck/add the rack back in or is the 2 inch of lift negated by removing the rear blocks. Whats the difference between the add-a-pack and full replacement.
I just want to level the front and smooth out the rear. I realize they affect/ maintain payload I was gonna add air bags to maintain a level truck. Even while hauling.
I was honestly considering a rear air suspension from Kelderman or auto flex but for the money of those kits I could build a nice Carli front and rear set-up that levels the truck plus air lift bags and maybe even Sulastic springs and still save money. I got a price on auto flex of 3600 not installed and kelderman is way more.
Other then the occasional job site I don't really take my truck off road. I'm assuming that even though its just a commuter kit its at least as off road worthy as the stock set-up is that true?

The best upgrade you can do to these trucks is the full deaver springs. It's such an amazing ride improvement, really blew me away.
BUT, they lower your payload about 1,000 lbs. So they are out for me. The add a pack replaces the stock blocks and improves the ride a lot, AND you keep your current payload rating. I think they're a better option if you're towing. It should be almost level with the add a pack.
You can always add airbags afterwards for about $400.
