Hey guys. I need some advice. I'm just starting the restoration on my 1977 F100 that's been sitting for about 10 years and I'm not sure what should come first. I've planned on getting the brake system to 100%, but it's a power brake system so now I wonder if that's the best thing to start with. Should I get the engine running first? I'm thinking that I won't be able to get the whole brake system working correctly without having the engine running already.
Any suggestions on the order to tackle each system? (It as "new" tires that are in good shape.)
I have done my restores different but with my current 78 here is my plan.
Body work to fix any rust and make it all solid.
Brakes front and rear
Engine and drive train
Interior
Body paint
After I work on the engine I want to drive it around, so doing brakes first means I can drive it when done.
Now this is just the order I'm doing this truck in based on the fact that it runs and drives as is. I don't think it's fully safe for the road as is so doing all the work first.
