I have been offered a pretty straight '75 with a small block v8 and std trans for scrap value. I am having a hard time finding it's weight and actual prices paid for scrap cars. It has not run for years, tags are way out of date which will cost a fortune in Oklahoma to renew. Fair price? weight?
make sure you save the manual pedals and steering column. and steering box if its manual.
200 might **** the guy off, and then he will sell it to the scrap guy anyhow..................you lose.
go in for $300 or $350
I bought a 76 with the 3spd manual and 300 6cyl but it only had 60,000 miles on it and just came off the road. owner was son of original owner and was just happy it wasn't getting crushed
Remember scrap value is what they will get if they bring it to the scrap yard, not what someone will give them at their property and then have to haul it to the scrap yard.
I just scrapped 2 cube vans on Saturday, '91 with a fiberglass box, got 1/2 the weight because of the box $245 and '94 with a aluminum box, minus the drive train, They took off 1500# for the wood floor/insides, $269.
And that was towed to the yard. Scrap just bounce up to $150 last week, from $140/gross ton for car bodies.
I believe I just scored the E150 and also a dodge van they have, I'll update you all on the prices when I make the exchange. Thank you all for the advice and help. Now to get the tags renewed and get it running.
You might consider finding a buddy across the state line to wash the title and get it registered. It doesn't matter how long the tag is expired here for the new owner, it costs the same no matter what. And it is eligible for the super cheap antique tag...
That is a consideration, but Oklahoma won't reissue a title in arrears it if was lost apparently, w/o paying all of the back "taxes". i am looking into any solutions. I have a very original 63 F100 w/o a title that is going to cost a few hundred bucks, and a lot of hassle. My email is
randylyle111atyahoodotcom. i am an hour or so from Ft Smith.
I just scrapped a couple of old junk vans last week. a 2000 olds silouette brought 269$. 110$ a ton here in Springfield MO. Salvage yard would offer 140$ a ton if complete.
