E4OD Fitment Expert Advice Needed?

Hey guys,
I realize the E4OD was used in F150/250/350, Full Size Bronco, etc. I have a good one currently in a 90' F150 5.8/E4OD w/ Great Working Transfer Case.

I know the bolt pattern fits 4.9/300 6, 5.0/302, & 5.8/351, I need to know what models/years it'll interchange with please.

Will it fit newer E4OD stuff like my friends 97 F250 5.8/E4OD, or any older newer models? Do they differ much internally from Year to Year?

Thanks again and any help is greatly appreciated!

Yeah there are some internal mechanical and solenoid pack differences but that can be addressed in some cases. I'm not an E4OD expert but there are some here and hopefully they will chime in with more info.

In 95' or so they changed the solenoid pack wiring if I'm not mistaken, so you'd have to use the solenoid pack out of the 97 if it's still good.

They also moved diodes from the transmission solenoid pack to the ECM I think? That would be another hurdle unless once again you re-use the 97 solenoid pack.

Also, what sort of use will that truck see? Heavy towing? If so I wouldn't put one from a 1990 in my truck without major internal upgrades. Center support bushing, newer punp, sprag, planetary gears, etc.

I have a ATSG E4OD manual, PM me about it if you like.
