Help needed with '92 ECM identification
Howdy!
Long time lurker, first-time poster. I have gained SO MUCH incredible information from this site, but for the first time, I have managed to find a problem that I couldn't find a solution for.
Like several others I have seen, I have a truck that is in need of a new ECM, but I dont have the code from the old one needed to find the right replacement part.
The factory one died a spectacular death - literally burned a hole right through the board. I bought a replacement from the gettin-spot, but it died within a month. The replacement had zero markings on it anywhere - nothing. The original is long gone (core return) and the parts store has no ability to get a replacement. I bought one from the junkyard, but it must have come from a truck with an auto. The RPMs are all over the place, like its trying to downshift. There is other nonsense mixed into the story, but that's the cliffs-notes version.
TL;DR - I have no part number / compatibility code to reference to find a new one.
The truck is a '92 F-150, 4.9 I6, 5sp manual, long bed dual tank.
The calibration code is 2-51F-R00
If somebody far more knowledgeable than myself could decipher that and tell me a compatible computer code, I would be much obliged!
