Hey guys im in the process of building a 408w stroker for my 76 f100. Got a smoking deal on a set of brand new ford racing n351 heads that are completely fitted with the offset roller rockers, manley stainless valves, double valve springs for a roller cam, and guide plates and screw in studs. He showed me receipts for $1800 cdn, and i picked them up for $900 😁
My question is the headers, the current 351w long tube headers in the truck wont bolt up to these heads and from what i can see no one makes them. Lots of flanges available and shoenfeld makes a set that they say can fit a 67-72 ford truck.
Wondering if anyone has any experience with these heads in our trucks? Is there that much difference between generic headers for dents and bumps? And finally could i have a shop cut my chassis headers apart and weld them to the n351 headers? ( from what i see the ports are like 1/4 to 1/2" further apart really not that much.
any advice appreciated, just hoping i dont have to have customs made, even then id probably be less into it then a set of afrs or rhs heads and i like to be different!!
From 1965 to 1979 the front frame layout on 2wd trucks was mostly the same. If a header fits a Bump or Slick, it should fit the same configuration Dent.
