Truck trade

I'm going to post this on the other appropriate section too. I have an opportunity to make a trade, with a little cash coming my way, for another truck I have always admired.
I have had several cars and trucks in my life, a little over 60 of them. Many I would like to have back, but couldn't afford now. The vehicle I am looking falls into the category of, "I've always liked those".
The trade is this, (sorry, no pics). A local dealer has a very nice, full custom 1965 Ford Falcon Ranchero. Full blown 302, hi-rise intake, cam, headers, (I don't know what the final CI comes out to, if it is bored and/or stroked). AOD auto with 9inch rear. Beautiful paint job and every seam, except the doors, have been filled, (tailgate, fuel door, etc). The interior has received similar treatment with custom wood dash and console with bucket seats and all other panels covered in the same material. It is a real nice job. The only thing I don't like, is the fuel tank has been moved to the rear of the bed and the hose must be lifted across the body for filling.

I would be trading my F1, stock, (53 Merc), engine and tranny, decent paint, just completed custom interior and converted to 12 volts.
We are a couple grand apart and he is offering to come up with and extra $1000. I want $2000.

The F1 was also a truck I always liked, but, "been there-done that". Not that I don't like it, I do. But, to make it the hot rod, the Falcon is, would cost me another 10 grand.

Anyway, there it is. All things being equal, would you consider it?

you know exactly what your truck is because you built it. You have no idea what that Falcon is. There are thousands of "fully restored", Pieces of **** out there.

Your letting your lust, cloud your judgement.

Actually, I didn't build my F1. I took a chance buying it too. I have added to it, pushing it toward what I wanted, in that truck, but it was already a good looking truck when I bought it.
That said, I understand and fully agree with your statement.

So you want to trade a real flathead powered truck for a.....Falcon?

Not me.
All sarcasm aside, I think you are trading way down and yes he is asking too much for that Falcon. Lift the hose to fill the tank??? What else is hacked.?

The trade is made:

My only objection. Who spends all that time and money, building a truck like this, then leaves the tank as an after thought?

The fuel cell is a standard aftermarket racing unit and that is the way they come. I agree it is nice looking and here in Canada Rancheros are usually rusted beyond repair. Sorry to say though, there is no blower on that motor.

Fair enough. Every time I use my cell phone on this site I can't see the tiny pics as well or read the script properly. My beard says I am 80 but my ID says early 40's lol. I am on my computer now and can see the finish on the fuel cell. Looks like they just cut a hole and slipped it up?

"1965" Ranchero has a 1964 grille.

If the VIN begins with 4, it's a 1964. If it begins with 5, it's a 1965.

I noticed that. It's a "5". I'm trying to contact the previous owner to get a little history.
