I just recently picked up a 99 F350 V10 needing a transmission. I found a rebuilt 4r100 from a 01 5.4 as a replacement. When I went to drop the V10 transmission and put it side by side to compare with the replacement I noticed the V10 didn't have the tcc/oss sensors on top as did the 5.4. It looks like itll still bolt up but I'm not sure if itll work since theres nothing to plug into those sensors. Any one else ever run into this issue?
Sounds like your 99 is an early 99 v10 you need a trans from another early 99 v10 the trans from a 5.4 has isnt as strong. The trans from that 01 will not shift right either. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...atibility.html
Build date on the sticker shows 04/99 so I'm assuming that's a later 99 based on what Ive read.
Normally but there are some trucks that were built after the 3/1/99 changeover date have still had the earlier build caricaturists and the trans not having the sensors on top point to this being the case. There is a tag on the trans that has a date see what that is.

It isn't an issue. Just ignore the sensors, the PCM in your truck doesn't need them.
The bigger issue is that a V10 will tear up a 5.4L transmission in short order.

The trans will shift fine, for as long as it lasts. The torque converter lockup will be VERY harsh, though.
