I was about to tow the boat to Lake Roosevelt, WA (the lake behind Grand Coulee Dam), but our air is completely smoked up from the fires in the area... and there's that West Nile Virus notice for the lake. I recall my boot camp days and my mind immediately heard "Left oblique, HUT!"
Unfortunately... my pictures would likely be very hazy from the smoke, and not of Lake Roosevelt like I planned. I do have is this video of my last visit to Lake Roosevelt with the sail boat:

A few years ago someone tried to drive a small U-Haul through there and got stuck, they had the road closed most of the day. There's also a few videos of a bus getting stuck as well. It's crazy sometimes how folks get into bad situations up there.

summer vacation?
first try, getting loaded mother calls my father is having a heart attack, spend 5 days in hospital, play nurse made for 2 months start planning again, father has hernia, back in hospital for emergency surgery.
planning next trip, 3 days in the pines, moving my flatbed goose neck trailer out of the way and my daughters dog was under it. un-hooked take dog to vet, spend week nursing dog. looks like the only thing left is deer season the first of November.
Took Stinky and "Me and 'er" to Lake Roosevelt (Washington state) for vacation. The temps reached over 100 degrees, and the water was 72 degrees... so swimming was involved. We had a little haze from distant fires, but the weather was otherwise perfect.
We had one anchorage where the bees were a little busy, and my wife learned that a water spray bottle will repel them. She was so busy with that spray bottle that I needed to mask the dash and the stereo speakers, and run the bilge pump for the first time.
Carpet and all, nice touch. Do you go there for Memorial Day too? I used to think it got hot here in SE PA until I went to Myrtle beach in the end of May.

These are great. We went to Western Montana, then on Rapid City, SD, and then ended up an hour south outside if Edgemont working on a cattle ranch and horse training operation full time....so I guess our vacation turned into a permanent move

No vacation for me this summer. I'll try to take pictures of my truck hauling my household furnishings when I move in a few weeks, that's my vacation this summer.
